Knowledge users in Canada who work to strengthen health system performance often face a challenge in efficiently accessing research evidence to inform their efforts. A new rapid-response service introduced by the McMaster Health Forum is designed to fill the gap between the ‘self-serve’ option of using Health Systems Evidence, and the ‘full-serve’ option of requesting a stakeholder dialogue informed by a pre-circulated evidence brief.
The rapid-response service provides responses to urgent requests from Canadian policymakers and stakeholders for evidence about health-system challenges based on a systematic search for information about problems, options and/or implementation considerations. The service can be requested in a three-, 10- or 30-day time frame. Read more about what can be done and what cannot be done in each of these time frames.
Procedures for the service ensure transparent reporting of the strengths and limitations of the resulting evidence summary, in light of the time constraints of the request.
