Queen Elizabeth Scholar in Strengthening Health Systems
Yung is an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program. Throughout his undergraduate career and his research experiences, he developed an interest in public health, evidence-informed practice, and governance.
As an outgoing Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Yung will be travelling to London, England to intern at the NHS RightCare and NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (North West London). Through his time with the NHS, Yung will work on new specialty areas of the NHS RightCare programme, working with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to address solutions to long-term health conditions (e.g. diabetes, COPD, and MSK conditions) in London. Furthermore, Yung will assist with various business and project plans, analyzing data, and identifying key performance indicators to assess the effect of the NHS RightCare programme. By working with Clinical Commissioning Groups and stakeholders, Yung hopes to deepen his knowledge in healthcare commissioning and delivery, healthcare financing, and health systems demand management to improve health outcomes.
