Our work
The Forum develops programs and organizes events which provide a range of outcomes to help action-oriented stakeholders work towards sustainable solutions to important health challenges at the regional, national and international level.
We have developed a series of programs such as an innovative Stakeholder Dialogues series and Citizen Panels which bring together policymakers, leaders, citizens and researchers for candid, off-the-record deliberations that will spark insight and action.
Our events also include Public Talks, Faculty-led Dialogues and Debates and Student-led Dialogue and Debates all aimed at fostering creative and collaborative approaches to dealing with a variety of healthcare and health systems issues.
With all of our events and programs we make available reports, research and other materials that inform our specific programs and events, as well as more broadly-based information on a variety of health topics.
Outcomes of our work - which are made available through this website, in peer-reviewed publications, and are disseminated through other channels such as newsletters, and partner websites - are meant to help inform our audiences to take well-considered action and influence change. On each topic we address, we make available an evidence brief and a summary of a deliberative dialogue convened by the Forum, and offer a service to alert our stakeholders of new evidence which becomes available within 12 months of the deliberative dialogue. We also provide access to podcasts and videos of key individuals who participate in Forum events sharing their insights, and provide impact summaries on the topics addressed.
Training and education are key components of our work. Opportunities for Forum Fellowships and Visiting Scholars, and a unique Simulations Course for select McMaster University students, will empower health system influential stakeholders and train the leaders of the future.
